Visa application information
Traveling to the United States often requires obtaining a visa. Once you register, APS will send a letter of invitation for a visa application. It is very important to plan far in advance and review:
Press registration
Complimentary registration is available for members of the media. Those eligible for press registration include:
- Staff journalists working for editorially independent news outlets
- Freelance science writers and editors
- Public information officers working for scientific institutions
- Students and postdocs enrolled in a science writing program
APS uses a one-time credentialing process to verify eligibility for press registration.

Photo release
APS will take photographs and video at the APS DFD Meeting. By registering for the meeting and its associated events, you agree to allow APS to use your photo and/or video footage in APS-related publications, materials, websites, or promotions.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations must be received in writing by Nov. 13, 2026. All cancellations will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee, regardless of the reason for canceling. Please email the APS Registrar with questions.
