Session presentations
Oral contributed papers are limited to 10 minutes, with two additional minutes for Q&A. This is followed by one minute for the transition to the next paper and the introduction of the next speaker. During the talk, the monitor will indicate at eight minutes that the speaker has to finish in two minutes. At 10 minutes, it will indicate that the speaker’s presentation time is over. At 12 minutes, it will mean that the transition to the next speaker must occur.
Invited talks within minisymposia and focus sessions are 26 minutes long, including questions and transition. The talks will consist of 20-22 minutes for the presentation, with three to five minutes for discussion and one minute for transition. However, note that the time monitor in the room will keep the regular 13-minute schedule.
Invited lectures are 30 minutes long with an additional five minutes for discussion (total 35 minutes) except the following:
- The Otto Laporte and Stanley Corrsin Lectures are 40 minutes with five additional minutes for discussion (total of 45 minutes).
Each DFD-Interact session features 20 speakers. The first 10 speakers deliver two-minute talks, followed by a 40-minute discussion period at their ePosters. The second group of 10 speakers then follows the same format. The total time of an Interact session is two hours.

Review Tips for Designing Poster Presentations and Tips for Presenting a Scientific Poster.
Bring your poster to the exhibition floor at or after 10 a.m. on the day of your presentation. During the poster session, APS recommends that odd-numbered posters present for the first half and even-numbered posters present for the second half. This allows each poster presenter to both present their work and see the work from others. This is a recommendation and does not need to be adhered to. After the poster session concludes, remember to take down your poster; otherwise, it will be trashed.
